Re: Juma TRX-2 Firmware v1.20a Build 14
Hi Adrian, Thanks for the v1.20a Build 14 update. The splash screen settings, prompts, and display are correct on the radio. However, with the following radio settings the configuration dump display is as follows: RADIO DISPLAY - CONFIGURATION DUMP Off - Off Juma - ON Juma + Region - USB It looks ...

Re: TRX1 DDS Board
You'll need the Microchip MPLAB ICD2 or ICD3 programmer (the ICD3 is the current version from Microchip). You can do on-board programming with it. There is a programming header on the DDS board. You can probably find some information on the TRX2a main page under technical kit information. It may ...

Re: TRX1 DDS Board
A new part will have no boot loader programmed into it. You can load the progam after the radio is completed IF you have the necessary programmer. The easiest way is probably to get the part pre-programmed from Juma. Once the radio is finished and working you can upgrade the firmware from a PC if ...

Re: TRX1 DDS Board
I lifted a run while replacing the RS232 chip. I used a strand from a piece of stranded wire to make a jumper between the IC pin and the nearest via from the original run. If you look closely you can usually find a nearby connection that you can solder to. For this type of work you really need a ...

Re: Juma TRX-2 & LDG Electronics Z-817 Autotuner
The original Yaesu CT-62 interface cable contained an MX-232 and a 5V regulator in the 9-pin "D" shell that did the level conversion for the computer. 13.8VDC power was applied to the regulator from the Yaesu radio via one of the mini-DIN conector pins. Given that the Z-817 would require an external ...

Re: Juma TRX-2 & LDG Electronics Z-817 Autotuner
After receiving an LDG Z-817 and finding the manual pretty skimpy on technical details for the CAT port I did some further research on the Internet. It appears that while the CAT uses TXD and RXD, it is at TTL levels that are not compatible with a simple cable connection to the TRX2 RS-232 serial ...

Re: TRX2a Serial Problem
Success!! Replaced R22 with a new 10 Ohm. Actually I jumpered the defective resistor, now reading about 300K, with the 10 Ohm by placing the 10 Ohm at a more convient spot on the top of the PC board. Otherwise I would have had to remove the front panel and the LCD to get access to R22. The RS-232 no ...
