Juma TRX-2 Firmware v6.00a

Post by 5B4AIY »

There is now a new version of the firmware for the Juma TRX-2 transceiver. This version adds the feature that allows adjustment of the Low-Voltage Pre-Limit trip value. Previously it was fixed at 100mV higher than the final limit value.

NOTE: BECAUSE THIS FIRMWARE USES AN ADDITIONAL WORD OF EEPROM MEMORY, THIS WILL CAUSE A 'CHECKSUM ERROR' ON INITIAL POWER UP AFTER LOADING! MAKE SURE YOU NOTE YOUR EXISTING CALIBRATION AND CONFIGURATION DATA PRIOR TO LOADING THIS FIRMWARE!

This only occurs on the first power-up after loading. The CRC check made is extremely robust for the amount of data, and if a Checksum Error were to occur on a normal power-up it would indicate an error or corruption of the EEPROM. I have only ever heard of two such instances in the 9 years I have been supporting this transceiver, and both were caused by power line glitches. The power supply was a switch-mode unit with a poor hold-up time. This caused a fast reset which provoked a wild write to the EEPROM. Fortunately this is fairly easy to recover by simply reloading the standard defaults (See the User Manual for details).
