Yaesu 8 pin min din - JUMA PA1000

Post by GM6DX »

All.

I have a question hoping someone could answer.

I have made a cable (using the instructions) from the JUMA PA1000 to Yaesu 8 pin min din.

I have connected this to the Yaesu FTDX10 (via the tuner socket) and the amp just displays a ?? Not band data and the relays could be heard clicking.

The Yaesu tuner and Linear socket both contain the same connections of, BAND DATA, 13.8V, GND, TX GND so there should be no issue in this working.

Has anyone got a reason for this error or have expereince with this?

Thanks for reading.

Hi Billy,

Pse check that you have set JUMA PA1000 for BCD band data. Push the PAGE button until you are on Band Data page and select BCD with the up/dwn buttons.

You may also need to set something in FTDX10, like in FT-891 menu item 16-15 to "LAMP" (Linear Amplifier).

Hi.

So radio has been set to EXT or ATAS for tuner no option for linear. Still no joy.

I don't understand as both the 10 pin mini din and 8 pin mini din both have band data, relay keying and plus voltage.

There should be no reason why this doesnt work.
