TRX1 It's Alive

The TRX1 is finished and fired up first time. I heard signals, even while using a small miracle antenna. I didn't think this was going to happen since I had to jury-rig the DDS board after my soldering mishap with the AD9833. I am now an advocate of using a hotplate to install these extra small parts before hand soldering the other componenets. JUST BE CAREFUL !!!. The wiring was a bit of a pain because I wired up the boards while installed in the cabinet. There were advantages and disadvantages to hooking everything up as is pictured on the website, that is, outside the enclosure while everything was easy to get to. It's now time to start putting a few bucks away for a TRX2A/SE and, maybe, the PA1000 down the road. 73, Marc WB2MSC
