TX500 Control board hardware?

I'm at the point where I need to mount the LCD and faceplate for the controller board. None of the hardware sizes makes sense. The small diameter screws are way too long (12mm) and stick out of the bottom of the board. The studs on the standoffs are way too long (8mm) and stick out of the board too far. Is that normal?
