Hi
I have been using my PA1000 with my FTDX-10 but am planning to link it to my FTDX-5000.
I notice in the manual it states that when in Standby or switched off that 100W may be passed through the PA1000.
As the FTDX-5000 can output 200W would that cause a problem with the PA1000 in Standby or off?

PA1000 Standby/Off power
Re: PA1000 Standby/Off power
Ian,
I have tested only 100W but I don't see any problem with 200W thru PA1000 when it is STBY or power OFF.
The TRX connector is connected to ANT connector via T/R relay and a 100nF capacitor. See the attached simplified schematics.
Note. Be careful when switching PA1000 to OPER state - remember to reduce the drive power down to 10W.
